Molecular Technologies

Exploring DNA, proteins, and the molecular architecture of life.

Molecular technologies encompass CHOZENLAB's interest in the fundamental molecular machinery of biology — DNA, RNA, proteins, and the enzymatic processes that govern how biological information is stored, expressed, and transformed.

This direction includes protein engineering and de novo protein design, DNA nanotechnology, the molecular basis of cellular signalling, and the development of molecular tools for biomedical research and engineering. Understanding biological systems at the molecular level is prerequisite to engineering them at higher levels of complexity.

Areas of interest

  • Protein EngineeringDesigning and modifying protein structure and function for specific applications.
  • DNA NanotechnologyUsing DNA as a programmable engineering material at the nanoscale.
  • Molecular BiologyFundamental mechanisms of gene expression, replication, and regulation.
  • Protein DesignDe novo computational design of functional proteins.
  • RNA BiologyNon-coding RNA, gene regulation, and RNA-based therapeutics.
  • Enzyme EngineeringEngineering enzymes for novel catalytic functions and biomedical applications.

Current Stage

This research direction is in the early conceptual and exploratory stage. CHOZENLAB has not yet published papers, completed experiments, or developed commercial products in this area.
