Biological Computing

Exploring how living systems process information and participate in computation.

At CHOZENLAB, biological computing represents one of our most ambitious long-term research directions — the investigation of how biological systems, living cells, and neural structures can participate in information processing and computation.

This direction encompasses biohybrid computing systems where engineered biological components interface with silicon electronics, organoid-based computing substrates, and the theoretical foundations of how biological neural networks process information. We are interested in understanding both the natural computational properties of biological systems and the engineering principles that might allow us to harness or augment those properties.

Biological computing is a long-term research vision at CHOZENLAB. We have not yet built biological computers, completed experiments, or developed commercial products in this area.
